Inverted Commas
Stage: Development
Inverted Commas is a collection of quotations that shows off the wit and wisdom of some of the greatest people to have walked the earth. At present, I’m not actively looking for quotations – I’m just jotting them down as I discover them.
At the time of writing (11/02/12), the manuscript of ‘Inverted Commas‘ is approximately 10,000 words long.
Here are a few quotes to keep you going until it’s released:
“The best fame is a writer’s fame. It’s enough to get a table at a good restaurant, but not enough that you get interrupted when you eat.”
- Fran Lebowitz
“The world’s tragedy is that men love women, women love children and children love hamsters.”
- Joanna Trollope
“When a man opens a car door for his wife, it’s either a new car or a new wife.”
- Prince Phillip
“Imagination is intelligence with an erection.”
- Victor Hugo
“In Russia, we had only two channels. Channel One was propaganda. Channel Two consisted of a KGB officer telling you: ‘Turn back at once to Channel One.’”
- Yakov Smirnoff
