A month or two ago, my dad sent me through a rough demo of a song called ‘Middle Class Girl‘ that he co-wrote with one of his clients.
As far as I understand it, the client fancies himself as a songwriter but doesn’t play any instruments – he shared some of his lyrics with my father, who took them home and picked up his guitar to set them to music. This is the result:
Middle Class Girl
My dad was my first musical influence – I grew up listening to his band performing sixties rock ‘n’ roll covers in pubs and working men’s clubs. He also taught me to read guitar tablature, and I taught myself to play guitar from there.
You can read more about my musical beginnings here.
He also wrote a song called ‘gypsy lover‘ and recorded a studio-quality demo of it. Here’s a clip of me performing it:

In other news:
Don’t forget that I’m set to perform at The Cavendish Arms in Stockwell on Wednesday 25th January – come on down!
Also, I’m expecting to receive the first copies of my forthcoming screenplay, ‘Come On Up to the House‘, within the next week – don’t forget to pre-order your copy here.
Thanks for reading.
